  • John Alexander Wedding Photography

My wedding photography is photojournalistic in style which means I aim to tell the story of the day with stunning images captured in a relaxed and informal way.  Some photographers try to be anonymous, but my approach is to blend in with your wedding guests and to capture the atmosphere of the occasion.

    John Alexander Game-Shooting Photography

I aim to capture all the action in a 'reportage' style, spending time with each gun and ensuring that I do not disrupt the shoot in any way. I aim to tell the story of the day by varying the composition, angles and lenses used to give a unique and wide-ranging selection of shots. This approach produces natural, unposed shots that each gun can take away as a memorable record of their day.

    Bespoke Commissions

I have been commissioned to take photographs of a huge range of different subjects to be used for publications, websites or framed prints for clients. I have achieved unique images that the clients adored, so whatever needs to be captured I feel I am able to tackle the project.

    John Alexander Landscape Photography

My landscape photographs are taken mostly at sunrise and sunset when the light goes through magical transformations. Sometimes that perfect light can last for a mere 10 seconds, and being ready and in the right position is vital to take advantage of these optimum conditions. Pre-seeing a composition is crucial, as is returning to the location when the light is absolutely right for the shot which often takes multiple visits.  Despite all the techniques that digital photography has to offer, I believe in “getting it right in camera” for the most beautiful, honest shot.  Moreover, I prefer to be out taking photos than sitting in front of the computer!
